Thanks to Mr Hartley...

We all care about education - whether it's as parents who want the best for our children, as employers who want a well skilled workforce or teachers and teaching assistants who want to feel valued and supported. My own views on education are very, very simple. Cutting corners and costs in
education has a long term effect - not only on our young people but also on our economy.
The Tories propose to cut school lunches for the youngest in our schools, despite the evidence that the hardest hit will be the 'just about managing' families Theresa May claims to defend. The Tories propose to reintroduce grammar schools, despite the evidence that they do not result in better results and pull funding away from the 'other' schools that most of our children will attend. The Tories funding plans for schools will mean a real terms cut of 3% by 2021 according to the Institute for Fiscal Studies, meaning the loss of crucial staff and further increases in class sizes. The Tories have no plans on university tuition fees, seemingly happy to saddle our students with a lifetime of debt.
A vote for Labour is a vote for well funded education and training, an end to university tuition fees and inclusive education for all. Like I benefited from myself, right here in Broxtowe. With inspiring teachers such as Mr Hartley who brought out the very best in me and in all my classmates at Chilwell Comp.
I know that's what I want for my family, and for yours.
