On the doorsteps in Chilwell & Kimberley

Whilst Anna Soubry was on Sky News this morning saying "Labour can't get people out to knock on doors", I was out in Chilwell and later in Kimberley doing exactly that - knocking on doors with a big energetic team of 16 volunteers! Thanks for your concern Anna, but even your paid staff member and local Councillor who were out leafleting in Stapleford seemed impressed by the size of our canvassing team :-)

I am hearing from more and more local people who want to get involved in our campaign. If you'd like to join the team and get involved in any way, just drop me a line.

After pounding the streets all day today I'm spending my evening helping my 10 year old daughter with her homework on 'global warming' or, as I prefer to call it, 'climate change'. It's a subject very close to my heart, having worked at the Environment Agency for over 20 years, and one you will hear more about from me throughout my campaign.

Looking forward to a busy week coming up, including participating in tomorrow's Broxtowe In Europe debate in Beeston. Hope to see many of you there.
